The Danville-Boyle County Humane Society is a non-profit organization that has been helping cats and dogs in our area since 1972. Whether you're looking for the perfect pet to adopt, wanting to get involved by fostering or volunteering, needing help getting your own animals neutered, or just looking for helpful information, you've come to the right place!

Pets of the Week

Billy (ID #26566) is a sweet 2 ½ year old orange and white tabby. He was brought to the humane society as a stray, but he is calm and friendly and adjusted fine to his new surroundings at the shelter. If you are looking for a feline companion, and want to bypass the “kitten crazies”, then Billy would be a wonderful choice. Come for a visit and meet this sweet boy in person to see if he’s a good fit for your family!

Apollo (ID #26613) is a gorgeous 3 year old German Shepherd Dog. It’s hard to believe he was found as a stray and no one has come forward to reclaim him as their pet. Apollo is a lot of dog! He is very friendly, but high-energy, and probably not for the first time dog owner. Apollo will do great in a home where he gets plenty of exercise and his new owner should commit to providing obedience training and a structured lifestyle. Apollo is a great dog, just looking for his perfect match!
